If a King Cake could be a cocktail and if the cocktail could be girly, delicious, slightly shocking and oh so funny then THIS is the one! Happy Mardi Gras!!
Mardi Gras King Cake Cocktail
(vodka, creamy soda, seltzer, Mardi Gras sprinkles)
Serves 6
The flavor of a Mardi Gras King Cake in the form of a girly cocktail.
What you need:
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup Mardi Gras Sprinkle Mix (equal parts any purple, green and yellow sprinkles that you love…have fun with this!)
Crushed Ice
12 ounces vodka
12 ounces cream soda
12 ounces seltzer
Doll head (optional, but so much fun)
What to do:
1. Place corn syrup on a plate and dip the rim of six 12-ounce glasses into the corn syrup (making sure to coat all the way around each rim). Dip glass into the Mardi Gras Sprinkle Mix you have created.
2. Fill the doll head with ice and place in the bottom of a pitcher. (the ice will keep it from floating…which would cross the line from fun to way too freaky should it float)
3. Pack pitcher with ice.
4. Add vodka, cream soda and seltzer. Stir.
5. Pour any leftover sprinkle mix over.
To Serve: Pour into sprinkle rimmed glasses.
This is the mix I did. Lavender, green and yellow jimmies, gold dragees, lavender sanding sugar, yellow hearts and green hearts. Just have fun with it. I just happen to have a lot of sprinkles on hand!
