Inspired by gum balls and made whilst chewing 100’s of said gum balls. This felt ball garland is the perfect colorful decoration for holidays, parties or just to swing around your neck.
Felt Ball Garland
(length varies with diameter of balls…that’s what she said)
Ingredients:
75-100 felt balls (I purchased mine from Benzie Design)
1 pair scissors
1 skein of embroidery floss (I used grey)
1 large threading needle (long enough to thread through the diameter of the largest ball)
What to do:
It’s so easy really! Divide the felt balls into groupings of color and decide what sequence of color you would like to string. Thread your needle with the embroidery thread and make a large knot about 5 inches up the end (you’ll want and end if you decide to tie the ends together or tie onto something). Thread the balls one by one in your pattern and once your garland is about 6″ or 8″, tie off the end with a button or large knot (again, leaving about a 5-inch “tail” of thread).
Hang wherever you think your world needs some happy. Here are a few of my favorites!
