Most likely to colorize the graduation cap and add a pom pom tassel: Libbie Summers
Most likely to help her do it: Candace Brower
(if we had only been this cool in our respective graduation decades)

For some reason I’m obsessed with stitching right now. When my friend Katherine Sandoz taught me a new term, Sashiko Stitching, I felt a need to give it a go. I had such a fun time colorizing this graduation cap using my new lack of technique technique. Could this be my new thing?
No…it involves sewing.

I used embroidery thread (full thickness or whatever you call it) and a darning needle (which I think was too blunt, were I to do more stitching I would use an embroidery needle), didn’t draw a pattern and just went at it…freestyle.

Happy Graduation to anyone who has had the fortune to wear a mortarboard and a smile and to all those who helped them along the way.
