I love the unexpected. 
Turning a corner on a path to the beach on Block Island, my lunch guests found this unexpected dessert spot.
Dappling sun. Weathered adirondack chairs. A perfect lattice-topped strawberry rhubarb pie with the whitest marble pie server set. Pink melamine flowered plates. Just wilting blue hydrangeas. And, the cutest pink hobnail pitcher filled with ice cold basil water and a rhubarb stalk stirrer. 
What could be sweeter?
Think outside the dining room.

They were kind enough to send me everything you see in this picture while I was cooking in Rhode Island last week. AND, I got to do the best parts –shop online, bake a pie and invite a few guests to an unexpected dessert course! It was a magical afternoon.
