Pumpkins carved –kind of…more like decorated.
Candy purchased –check.
Costume made –nailed it.
Dessert to take to a Halloween party….shit.
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with this simple skull stencil cake.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
1 prepared layer cake (red velvet is perfect!)
5 cups frosting, tinted gray
off-set spatula
1 cup black sanding sugar, divided
1 piece construction or other heavy weight paper
pencil or marker
1 clip art of a skull and cross bones
scissors
STEP ONE:
(gather your ingredients)
STEP TWO:
(cut out your skull and cross bones stencil)
STEP THREE
(frost your cake…need a cake frosting tutorial? Click HERE for mine)
STEP FOUR:
(lay your stencil down on the top of the cake: do not press too far into the frosting, just lay it down lightly)
STEP FIVE:
(Sprinkle the sanding sugar over the stencil. Make sure to save 1/4 cup to throw on the sides)
STEP FIVE:
(carefully remove stencil and toss the remaining sanding sugar against the sides of the cake.)
Happy Halloween!!
